PacNW improved a lot over the course of the year. On game day we may be opponents, but every other day we should consider everyone to be a teammate. It’s all about the growth and development of the players.

Camcorders can make it a lot easier for you. DSLR and other non-camcorder options sometimes have limitations on how long of a file they can record. Some cut off after 30 minutes. If you have one where that's not a problem, then you may get a better quality video out of it. But for me, the simplicity of a camcorder wins. For a sports gimbal, I find the tripod is sufficient. But my wife did just get a gimbal for her DSLR, and it's been great to get the stable video. If I had a DSLR and wanted to just get shorter action shots of the games instead of the full game, I'd definitely go for a gimbal.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I tried the camcorder and liked it. The gimbal was more difficult likely because I tried three at once and they sort of cross circuited. For the games, I think I’m going to have two camcorders pointing in opposite directions because I find panning to be difficult. And I only ever seem to get one half of the field in the frame at one time. The thing is that I cannot see what I’m recording while I’m filming. A monitor would be helpful. So I’m on the hunt. Any gear recommendations you have would be much appreciated.

You can, but it will be tough to make out who is who. I think it would be roughly the same quality as a VEO.

He was happy about the goal, but he had been getting frustrated with some fouls that weren't called prior to scoring so he didn't do a good celebration.

I don't know much about live broadcasting. All I've done so far is attach my phone at the top of my camera and live stream via youtube on my phone.

I think a lot of the stuff I referenced in my video may not be for sale anymore. Sorry. I'm not sure what a replacement setup would be. Whenever I upgrade mine, I'll document it though.

Only the showcases so far, where travel costs prohibit everyone from going, and where I know I won't be able to publish the high quality video for a few days.

I adjust the extension of the monopod slightly based on how windy it is. With no wind, I can keep it stable by applying a little pressure on the handle that I use to pan and zoom. If it’s windy, I lower the monopod about 25% and it becomes a lot more stable. If you zoom in to the far side of the field and try to stay in one spot, you’ll notice it moving. If you’re zoomed out a little, you can’t notice it.

I usually lower it until it's stable. If it's not windy I can go to the top. If I have the rain cover on, or if it's windy, then I have to lower it.
